T-54

Bamyan, Afghanistan Sept. 2022

It's  placed here in the fields in front of the Budha, in reality it is on the plateau in front of it, a little shifted to the right. This machine T 54 was involved in the destruction of the Budha then was scuttled at the place where it is today, at the time of the departure of the Taliban from Bamiyan at the end of 2001.... then repainted, I don't know exactly when and by whom in its current livery.

The 1951 model already has the definitive turret, but the gun is not stabilized and does not have the smoke evacuator. The Luna Search light is not present, nor the associated gunner's sight. The arrangement of the storage boxes and auxiliary tanks on the mudguards is different, and it still has the "Spider" road wheels.

The kit is the one produced by Mig Ammo, which will be back dated. The wheels are from the old T-34 Revell kit and the barrel is an upgraded version of the T-54 PST barrel. The other improvements are made of plastic card, copper wire and aluminum foil.
